Emily Kenning Wheeler is a New York City-based mezzo-soprano celebrated for her versatility across styles including opera, musical theatre, early music, folk, and jazz. She recently made her Carnegie Hall debut as a vocal mentor for the GRAMMY-winning National Children's Chorus under the direction of Dr. Allan Laiño and Luke McEndarfer. Other recent highlights include the premiere of Beloved King, a Queer Bible Musical at Harvard’s Oberon Theatre with A.R.T., and appearing in The Nutcracker with Leggz Dance Studio on Long Island. She was also named a Young Artist for the inaugural Five Cities Baroque Festival, working alongside bass-baritone Alan Held.
Emily holds a Master of Arts in Voice and Opera from the University of Iowa and a Bachelor of Arts in Vocal Music from Millikin University. Now based in Manhattan, she continues to seek projects that blend technical excellence with emotional connection, with a particular passion for innovative and inclusive storytelling.
